Travel Tackle Football
The 703 United Lions are a travel football league based in Prince William County, drawing players from surrounding areas, including Stafford, Arlington, Alexandria, Loudoun, Fairfax, and Fredericksburg. Established in 2020, the league thrives with the support of dedicated parents, hardworking players, a dynamic coaching staff, and strong community involvement, including sponsors. As a member of the Virginia American Youth Football Alliance and affiliated with American Youth Football (AYF), 703 United provides a platform for young athletes to excel and build a strong foundation for their future.

Frequently Asked Questions
How Far Do We Travel?
One of the most frequently asked questions is about how far we travel for games. The majority of our games are within our conference, which consists of teams located mainly in the Northern Virginia area. These are our regular season games, and travel is generally local.
For the regular season, we can schedule out-of-conference teams, but this is typically just one or two games. These are usually considered special matchups or opportunities to challenge the team with different competition.
The travel requirement increases during the postseason. If your team performs well and wins their conference, they will advance to the state level. The state competition is made up of five conferences from across Virginia. If your team succeeds at the state level, they will move on to the regional competition, which includes teams from Virginia, Maryland, D.C., North Carolina, South Carolina, and more.
The final stage, after winning regionals, is the national level, where the top teams compete in Florida against the best teams from across the country. While we’ve had several exceptional teams advance to nationals, it’s important to note that this level of success is not typical for every team, and it requires a lot of hard work and dedication.
In short, the bulk of our travel is local, with extended travel for the postseason based on the success of the team.

Ages
What aged players are appropriate for this program?
Players range in age from 5-13 years old based on a July 31, cut-off.

What is the commitment level for my child?
The commitment to youth football requires dedication. During the season, players are expected to attend practice 3-4 days per week and participate in 1 game each week. Practices are typically 2 hours long, and the schedule may vary depending on weather or team needs. As we approach the season’s end, practices may decrease in frequency. Our coaches expect players to be fully committed to both practices and games to ensure success.

How can I volunteer or support the team?
We greatly appreciate our parent volunteers! Whether it’s helping with equipment, organizing team events, or assisting with concessions, there are always ways to get involved. If you’re interested in volunteering, please reach out to the team manager or the coaching staff. Your support is key to making our program successful!
